In particular, the Novice Class: For many years, the winner of the Novice Class was presented with ‘The Hive and the Honey Bee’, on loan for the year. This is a very thick book, edited by Joe M Graham (Dadant & Sons), with a wealth of information about bees and beekeeping. Then it went missing. After giving up the search for it, Peter Norris has obtained another copy, so the tradition is set to continue. All we need now is a flood of entries in the Novice Class. To be eligible for this class a member must have not previously won a prize in the competition (any class).
